Weather Update:

Turns out trips through Death Valley are not easy to schedule. You've got to go early in the year or it's too hot to enjoy. But then you risk having some unpredictable weather, which is exactly what I'm in for.

When I scheduled the date, it looked to be good all the way through. As the departure date nears, I've been checking weather updates more frequently. It was still all looking good up until yesterday...

...but since I'm leaving tomorrow morning, wouldn't you know it that a storm had to come in. 10-day forecasts still look ok for the later parts of my journey, but we'll see. Looks like my first stop, Minden NV tomorrow morning, will be blowing and snowing. Then wet all the way down to Bishop. After that, things look good at this point. Guess I need to put the liners back in my riding gear and start out with all the cold weather gear on. Because tomorrow morning I'm heading south...this weather just adds some excitement to the adventure.

Take a look at this latest update from weather.com:

In the West, a very sluggish storm will impact the region into late week.

Strong winds gusting between 40 and 60 mph will impact portions of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico today into Wednesday. Blowing dust may lower visibilities in some locations. Wind advisories, high wind warnings, and blowing dust advisories/warnings are posted across some of these states.
